Hiring: Naval Architect with great CFD skills!
We are looking for a Naval Architect and CFD specialist with good knowledge of theory and methodologies within hydrodynamics and hull line design.
You will be part of our hydrodynamics team and will contribute to the continued development of the methods and standard setups for our CFD simulations, and you will be working with high-end CFD tools to predict and optimise the propulsive performance of all vessel types.
We are using the commercial code STAR-CCM+ for resistance prediction and self-propulsion evaluations and Rhino 3D for initial hull design. In addition to the propulsion prediction, you will be working with a range of other simulations such as car deck ventilation, wave loads and wind loads.
Besides working with hydrodynamics and CFD, you will take part in OSKs other assignments within naval architecture and ship design. Hence, the right candidate also possesses experience and skills in other areas of general naval architecture.
Our new colleague preferably possesses high knowledge and experience within the following areas:
- CFD simulation (Preferably STAR-CCM+)
- Resistance and propulsion
- Scripting (JAVA and Python)
- Linux cluster systems
- CAESES / Friendship Systems
- Rhino 3D
We expect you to be enterprising and autonomous. You strive with complex projects and take great pride in always ensuring the highest possible quality and working towards innovative solutions.
You will be based in our Aarhus or Copenhagen office, whichever suits you best, each with 20+ colleagues in an informal and relaxed atmosphere with a strong work ethic. If based in Aarhus, occasional travels to our Copenhagen office occur due to our CFD-hardware being situated there.
We are a highly specialised team of experienced colleagues – all with an innovative approach to ship design. There is high potential for personal development and building of professional skills as well as setting new standards for calculation methodologies.
