OPEN POSITION Deadline 1 August 2019: Experienced marine engineer or naval architect with strong hydrostatic and statutory skills

We are looking for a marine engineer or naval architect with a profound understanding of and strong skills within hydrostatics and statutory. Proven experience in ship design is required, as you will be in charge of ensuring regulatory compliance as well as participating in the constant development and innovation of ship designs and optimisation.

OSK-ShipTech A/S is one of Denmark’s leading naval architecture and marine engineering consultants, designing and converting vessels for some of the world’s largest operators.

  • You are a skilled engineer or naval architect (B.Sc/M.Sc or equivalent level of qualification) with proven experience in ship design 
  • You can perform technical calculations and investigations
  • You thrive with problem solving and technical design challenges
  • You are organised in the planning of your work time and know how to provide timely and accurate technical service to our clients worldwide
  • You have good self- and time-management abilities, handling various challenges and deadlines simultaneously
  • You have the ability to work independently and also contribute as an effective and positive member of our specialised Hydrostatics & Statutory-team and across teams in general
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in Danish
  • You are flexible and ready to travel all over the world when required


  • Experience with statutory regulations
  • Experience with stability calculations – ideally also NAPA
  • Experience with AutoCAD and preferably Rhino
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office package

You will be working in either our Copenhagen or our Aarhus department with tight cooperation between the two. In both offices, you will have 20+ colleagues working in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Domestic travels between our offices to be expected as well as regular travels to clients and yards globally.

we are searching for a creative interior designer to be based in our design studio in Guangzhou.

SinoDane is a joint venture company between Guangzhou Shipyard International Co. Ltd. (GSI) and OSK-ShipTech A/S. GSI is one of China’s largest shipyards specialised a.o. in RoPax, and OSK-ShipTech is one of Scandinavia’s leading naval architects designing ships for owners all over the world. You will be working in tight cooperation with designers, architects, and engineers from both companies.

You are enterprising, autonomous and adventurous and could see yourself living and working in China.

You have solid experience with large and complex projects – and tight deadlines.

You have a strong sense of aesthetics as well as an eye for practical and durable solutions with heavy usage.

You have an inspirational portfolio with completed interior projects of different types.

You have experience in ship design.

You have proven experience within the following areas:

  • Concept Designs
  • Basic Interior Designs (implementing conceptual ideas in real workable designs)
  • Technical drawing skills
  • Construction skills and construction design including furniture
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • 3D Designs in CAD
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

You will join our team of ship interior architects, naval architects, and engineers, and you will be working on design concepts including on-board facilities and passenger flow. Among other things, you will be designing interior fittings for cabins, layouts of restaurants, galleys, shops, etc. as well as furniture design/ construction and customisations for ships, lighting, and decorations to name a few areas.


Workplace & Reference
You will be employed on a local contract in SinoDane (Guangzhou SinoDane Ship Design Company Ltd., China) and will be working in our design studio in Guangzhou together with Chinese and Danish colleagues.

Working time & Salary package
It is a full time position following local workday practice for office hours, breaks, etc.
Occasional travels to global customers and yards as well as OSK premises in Denmark to be expected.
