OSK-ShipTech A/S is behind the ferry design and tender procedure for a new domestic ferry for one of the western most routes in Denmark between Thyborøn and Agger. Operating in the choppy waters of the West coast in sea area class C, the ferry needs to comply with higher security level allowing water on deck compared to most other inland ferries operating in sea area class D.
To keep the vessel light and allow for high fluctuations in tides and shallow water conditions, the ferry will have a low draught and land-based ramp system. The project scope is a double-ended ferry with short loading and off-loading time, capacity of 98 passengers and 2 man-staff, subject to authority approval.
OSK-ShipTech A/S is in charge of the ferry design, project design, proposal material and the tender procedure.

01-09-2015 The art of agility in the marine business CEO Anders Ørgård Hansen interviewed in ShippingWatch about OSK’s adaptability in a constantly changing market. Due to a declining offshore market, OSK-Offshore had to close its Hamburg office last year and say goodbye to a handful of employees. But as demand increased - especially in the passenger ferry sector - OSK acquired A/S Jørgen Petersen with 40 years’ experience on special vessels and passenger ferries. It’s the swings and roundabouts, really. Being able to utilize and exchange knowledge and competences between OSK’s dual legs – ShipTech and Offshore respectively. It is all about maintaining and keeping the knowledge accumulated in our employees and channel them to where they’re needed on varying projects and activities. This a vital capability in a business founded on long term client relations and extended timeframes from... 01-09-2015

In today’s market there is huge potential in developing safer systems for a field of operation currently defined by ‘creative’ on-the-spot-solutions with high injury rates among ships’ crews to follow.
