Steen Friis Design A/S is looking for a creative and inspirational colleague, who wants to design the ships of the future.

Experience in ship design is a plus, but not a must – we will introduce you to the specifics of ship design.

Steen Friis Design A/S is a design studio specialised in ship interiors and we are experiencing rapid growth and high demand for innovative newbuilding designs as well as retrofits. We are involved in high-profile projects spanning diverse vessel types within the ferry and cruise segment. We are part of OSK-ShipTech A/S, one of Denmark’s leading naval architecture and ship design companies.

Job description
You will join our team of ship interior architects and naval architects and will be working on design concepts including on-board facilities and passenger flow. Among other things, we specialise in interior fittings for cabins, layouts of lounges, restaurants, galleys, shops etc. as well as furniture design/construction and customisation for ships, lighting and decorations including signage, exterior styling and corporate branding.

Our new colleague preferably possesses experience within the following:

  • Concept designs and interiors as well as detailed designs
  • Technical drawing skills
  • Construction skills and construction design including furniture
  • Graphic design, signage and corporate branding
  • Fluent in AutoCad, Illustrator, Indesign
  • English in speaking and writing – we service clients all over the world

We expect you to be creative and innovative, enterprising and autonomous. You strive with complex projects and tight deadlines, and you take great pride in always ensuring the highest possible quality and the best looking and most functional vessels.

Work place
Steen Friis Design studio is part of OSK-ShipTech and OSK Group, and we have offices in both Aarhus and Copenhagen. Work place can be either of those cities – whichever suits the right candidate. In either office, you will work with 20+ dedicated naval and interior architects and marine engineers in an informal and relaxed atmosphere with a strong work ethic but all with an innovative approach to ship design.

Salary, working time etc.
We offer a competitive salary package matching your qualifications and experience including several benefits. It is a full time position, and you should expect to travel occasionally to customers and yards in connection with projects.
